Kindergartners watched a brief video on how donuts are made and decorated and then used some of those techniques to make their own clay donut sculptures.
This kiddo really enjoyed himself.
Second grade are completing their duck stamp compositions.
Kindergarten is wrapping up a clay unit and starting a collaborative circle loom project. We are all kindergarten’s are contributing to producing three circle loom compositions students are able to take turns, work together by holding the loom and helping their peers remember the pattern of “over under, over under”.

Mr Mark and Ms Liz brought their goat Sunny to play in the woods with Kindergarten. We read The Three Billy Goats Gruff and then we were able to act it out. Students also learned a lot about what goats like to eat…pine branches, lichen, carrots, squash, and their favorite: apples. Some students joined Sunny in the apple snack.
4th graders learning about radius, diameter and circumference of a circle so that they can understand pi!
On March 14th and 15th the Annual GSB whole School Art Show will be on exhibition at the Coastal Rivers Land Trust (across the street from GSB).
The show opens for students Thursday, March 14, and every class will be visiting the exhibition throughout the day.
Thursday evening, March 14, families are invited from 4pm-6pm with snacks provided.
Friday, March 15, the show opens to the broader community from 9am-3pm.
I broke the internet at school, not once but twiceeee while trying to incorporate technology in PE with Parkour VR! Thank goodness we have a ROCKSTAR tech team!

Another wonderful cooking lesson in February at FARMS with our third graders. Students made egg rolls, pink pancakes, Irio which are African mashed potatoes, and African Red Lentil stew. Yum!
Trees are sprouting in Ms. Kristie’s class during theater camp.
Mr. Bailey, a local artist, came by the kitchen to talk about making art with Ms. Kristie’s class. Do you know a community member who would like to volunteer to come in and share their skills with our school? Please let us know!

Ms Tracy’s class enjoyed playing a game to review for our math test. Students working in small groups to solve problems and if the team got the question right you earn a bonus point by making a basket! Lots of fun and encouraging cheers!
