Great Salt Bay Girls and Blue Boys Basketball teams had games Monday night as they progressed through the playoffs! Unfortunately the season has ended for our girls, they left everything on the court against Bristol and should be proud of all they have accomplished this season! Blue Boys won against Wiscasset, pushing them further into the playoffs. They will be facing Boothbay on Wednesday AT HOME in the GSB gym at 3:45! Come cheer them on!

Congratulations to our GSB Toboggan Champions! These students helped build and then race their toboggan at this year's National Toboggan Championship. They made it down the chute in under 10 seconds in each of their runs - even facing some pretty windy conditions!

Ms. Erin invited First Push Syndicate, with their skateboards, into GSB, after discovering them at a local professional development day. To say Ms. Erin AND the students are hooked is an understatement. Skateboarding has taught our students grit, perseverance, balance, control, agility just to name a few. Through the awesome world of grants we have now purchased 15 skateboards and will be offering an afterschool program to 5th - 8th graders as well as teaching all 4th and 5th graders for years to come! 7th and 8th grade students continue to diligently work on their cardboard, architectural design projects in art. They learned about the 20 most common architectural design styles in the United States and they are building their own model homes out of cardboard and incorporating at least one style from the 20 most popular styles. Their model must include at least four sides, a roof, an articulating door and two windows. Students are getting very creative with gardens and Tourette’s, roofs with hinges so you can open the models and look inside. Students have made furniture and painted their custom home creations. Some students have chosen to make mobile homes, houseboats and included pools inside. I can’t wait to see what the final compositions look like!
