Fifth graders are combining the skills of research, paraphrasing, and notetaking as they prepare to write their informational reports. Students learned how to conduct research using keywords, evaluate sources for reliability, write what they read in their own words, and how to organize their research into subtopics for their reports. Topics students are researching and writing about include, but are not limited to, ice fishing, Florence Nightingale, Poseidon, the evolution of makeup, jellyfish, the White House, Tom Brady and Taylor Swift. -Ms. Kinney

Mixed Media Valentine’s
In art, Pre-Kindergarten students decorated paper by drawing with markers and painting water on their papers to make the colors blend. They also used stamps to print shapes that further decorated their papers. The next class, they cut a heart shape out their paper. Then they tore colored papers and glued these small pieces along the edge to create a frame. Hope you had a Happy Valentines Day! - Mrs. Cough

Miss Shocki’s team celebrated another Community Game Day. We had a bunch of grownups join us to play games this month. Players were challenged to explain rules, be flexible and play fairly so that everyone could be included and have fun.
